A rare 18th century padauk LOWBOY, colonial origin circa 1730
Description
The rectangular moulded edge overhanging top above a shaped frieze with five drawers, each retain original handles, raised on cabriole legs with a round pad foot.

Padauk was the favoured wood of furniture makers in the British colonies in 18th and 19th centuries and often referred to as East Indian mahogany.
