A fine rare late 18th century mahogany longcase clock by John Russell, Falkirk circa 1785
Description
The 8-day movement with arch dial in a mahogany case. The hood with swan-neck pediment and fretted decoration above a glazed arched door with columns; on long trunk with reeded quarter columns and moulded base on bracket feet. The arch brass and engraved silvered dial date aperture and engraved spandrels and makers name within the arch.
