A rare 18th century padauk LOWBOY circa 1730


The rectangular moulded edge overhanging top above a shaped frieze with five drawers retaining original handles; raised on cabriole legs terminating with a round pad foot.

  • Depth overall: 20.5ins (52cm)

Padauk wood or East Indian mahogany was favoured by furniture makers in the British colonies in the 18th & 19th centuries.
