A fine quality George III mahogany Side Table circa 1770

 

Description

The front and side serpentine shaped top above a carved fluted frieze with central carved urn plaque, on four square fluted tapered legs headed with paterae terminating onto a block foot.

Attributed to Ince & Mayhew, Broad St. Soho, subscribers to Chippendale Director and between 1759-62 published the porfolio, ‘Universal System of Household Furniture’, dedicated to the Duke of Marlborough.
